Mixing the Braf/Mek therapies: the choices!

Respman asked an excellent question about whether he could take one BRaf drug and then have the combo be another company's Mek drug. I went to our experts and here is what they said: "In theory, yes, patients could mix and match. We don’t tend to do that since there is no safety data regarding potential interactions between these cross-company pairs. Rather, we just switch from one BRAF/MEK regimen to another. Now that we have three, there are enough options. The MEK inhibitors are nearly identical. So the driver of regimen change is on the BRAF side re side effect differences."
