Much depends on the staging of your melanoma. The higher risk, the longer you may want to wait. The worry is a recurrence while pregnant. My doctor told me to wait two years. There is no hormonal connection to pregnancy and melanoma that's scientifically proven. I hope this helps you.

Thank you. May I ask what stage you had?

Mine was 0.9 mm, un-ulcerated, mitosis of 1, discovered in Dec 2016. Most doctors told me no need to wait, but I decided to wait for two years for my pwn piece of mind.

Yes, I had a mitotic rate of 2, and a .76 lesion. Not high risk but they didn't like the mitotic rate. For further peace of mind you can get a second opinion on the pathology, make sure an expert looks at it, dermatopathologist from a teaching university. (I was lucky to have Wallace Clark, who the Clark levels are named for)
