    Hi there

My bf had a skin check by his dermatologist Nov 18. Biopsy was .99mm, no ‘ulceration…Stage 1a. I’m not sure of mitotic rate. I read his pathology report 2 weeks ago for his consult with melanoma specialist but at the time it was a blur.

So…we just learned today his surgery is scheduled for Jan 20. WLE and SNLB. I’m freaking out that the surgery is 2 months from diagnosis. Is this typical? I’ve already lost one bf to esophogeal cancer in 2010. He is scared not only about the diagnosis but that I’ve been down this path before with a bf.

    Sorry panicked here.

I had similar times between diagnose and WLE + SNLB.

    Don’t worry, trust the specialist.

And try to not read all the horror stories that are all over Internet.

The majority of people with stage 1a diagnosis never have to worry about it again.
