We’ve had discussions in the past about alternative therapies and “special” testing or navigational services. I’ve run into many of these recently and was told by both the IRS and state non profit agencies there are bogus groups growing in number and thriving on vulnerable patient’s dollars. So please, if a non profit offers you a special service, it should be free of charge or if it is for profit, they should accept your insurance. Testing for therapy matching is another arena that is costly and often unnecessary. Any good university lab can do the same and your insurance will cover it. There are a variety of less than mainstream therapies that do help: acupuncture, massage, meditation etc. Please take a look at the link below for more information. And DO tell your doctor if you are taking any herbal or other remedies along side your therapy. Just because it says it is “all natural” doesn’t mean it can’t clash or be toxic.
Check this out. And please, if you have a question about something or an organization, ask here. WE CARE!
