Confused about clinical trials. I see so many bloggers writing about trying the various ones that are available. Is the choice based on the location of metastases, other things that have been tried, lenght of time etc, or are almost all trial meds possii for everyone (minus the disqualifiers) to try to see if it will work.
How do you decide which ones to approach out of so many? Are the onc. selecting them, or are patients? Seems like a lot of patients are being the leaders in the process…..
The ideal situation is both patient and doctor are choosing the clinical trial together. It is narrowed down by whether your tumor is BRAF negative or positive, and what you might qualify for. Also, geography plays a role for traveling back and forth to a given trial. I would look at our webinars to see what is new and promising.
