Keymasterhttp://www.cbsnews.com/news/billionaire-doctor-trying-to-turn-cancer-into-chronic-treatable-disease/ I would like to see a reputable doctor comment on it. His techniques are intriguing.

ParticipantI did. Very interesting. I sent the link to my case manager at MSMC. It will be interesting to see what she thinks about it. I liked the lead message which was that cancer research today is 100% different than 5 years ago. There is so much more knowledge and understanding now.

ParticipantThis article in Forbes was written after the 60 Minutes interview, by a writer who’s been following the Soon-Shiong and NantHealth story for awhile. … While it does some full-on dissecting the interview, the writer concludes that overall, “I looked long and hard at Soon-Shiong’s efforts, and I came away optimistic that something real might come out of them.”http://www.forbes.com/sites/matthewherper/2014/12/07/here-is-what-60-minutes-didnt-tell-you-about-the-billionaire-who-is-trying-to-disrupt-cancer-care/ ” class=”bbcode_url”> http://www.forbes.com/sites/matthewherper/2014/12/07/here-is-what-60-minutes-didnt-tell-you-about-the-billionaire-who-is-trying-to-disrupt-cancer-care/ The coordinator of my clinical trial told me about Dr. Soon-Shiong, and that he and the Providence Cancer Center (in Portland where I’m seen) are starting a new partnership. “Soon-Shiong will also serve as the health system’s new global director for cancer services and bio-informatics, working with oncologists in the five-state Providence system.” I’m not sure if it’ll be impacting my care anytime soon, but I’m interested for sure.

A similar machine at Providence Portland will be tied to a collection of faster models primarily located in Southern California, where Soon-Shiong’s company, NantHealth, is based.” In the picture, the research director of Providence, who’s also a melanoma oncologist, is shown standing next to one of the Illumina sequencing machines.

KeymasterI think this man has a lot going for him besides his wealth, he understands what bogs down our system in seeking treatments and cures. I am very impressed! -
