Many clinilal trials require criteria about ECOG performance status. How to understand ECOG Performance status 1? My mom is confined to bed due to pathological fractures (mets in pelvic bones), but she is fully active. So, is it mean that her ECOG status can not be assessed as an 1? and she can’t participate in any clinical trials?
I would bring this to the attention of the investigator of the trial you are interested in. It would seem that she would qualify as it is not the disease (melanoma) that has immobilized her. Hopefully they will view it that way. Is there a particular trial she is trying to enter?
