has anyone ever had a growing atypical mole? inside(not on) the skin of the sole or any other growing mark there?June 6, 2013 at 4:10 pm #61035WorrywartParticipant I had a new and rapidly growing mole on the palm of my hand. It was biopsied and was benign.June 7, 2013 at 7:25 pm #61036 I’m glad it was benign.I can’t see what mine is properly with it being under the skinJune 10, 2013 at 10:21 am #61037 Having my biopsy this afternoon and I’m feeling a bit nervousJune 10, 2013 at 12:20 pm #61038cohanjaParticipant Waiting is the hardest part. And remember statistically speaking any given lesion is probably not melanoma. Best wishes.June 11, 2013 at 2:01 pm #61039 thanks for the good wishes.the biopsy was very quick and now it’s the next day and so far I haven’t needed any painkillers.I’m on crutches thoughJune 17, 2013 at 12:34 pm #61040 Well,I called the hospital and the results are in but the doctor might not be in today and the sec said she cant tell me results so I asked her “not even if they’re good” and she said no so I’m having a very nervous day waiting!June 17, 2013 at 5:21 pm #610417spiderParticipantelly11 wrote:

Maybe the Drs nurse could tell you, mine did. Its torture having to wait around for the phone to ring. Good luck w/ it.June 17, 2013 at 10:19 pm #61042
Nope,I have to wait for the doctor, hopefully in the morning,so frustrating.Fingers crossed !June 18, 2013 at 9:47 pm #61043 The doctor called me this morning and said it was good news and totally benign. She was surprised at the result and said she had no idea why it had grown so much and had multiple colours, patterns and strange shape and looked a 100% like a melanoma. She said I had an excellent pathologist and there was no doubt about the result.
I really can’t believe it and I’m so relieved.Thank you and good luck to everyone on this forum.June 19, 2013 at 3:03 am #610447spiderParticipant
Great ! So happy for you. Stay on top of things going forward, and stay involvedJune 19, 2013 at 4:35 pm #61045SznnParticipant Fabulous!
Enjoy your summer – w/ sunscreen of courseJune 19, 2013 at 9:25 pm #61046Lisa PParticipant
Hi feeling scared! That is fabulous news. Now, my advice would be to get another doctor. No offense but if you are ever faced with anything worse, he/she is not the person you want to help you through the process. I’d be looking for someone who is a specialist in skin cancer to check me out on a regular basis and go from there! Again, congratulations on your great news!!! Lisa PJune 19, 2013 at 11:01 pm #61047 Thanks everyone!
Lisa, that doctor was a specialist!I guess everyone makes mistakes but she did worry me terribly with her words.I’m going to the hospital for mole mapping. After my experience and reading other people’s experiences onthe forum I now know to check my skin regularly when before I didn’t really do that so some good has come of it.June 20, 2013 at 2:15 pm #61048Lisa PParticipant
I think that’s an excellent idea! Best of luck!
