Hi we live in Australia and my wife has stage 4 melanoma, she has finished treatment with Yervoy and the follow up scan showed that it has spread significantly suggesting that yervoy did not work for her.Her specialist is going to try to get her on the PD-1 trials here but we wont know for another 3 weeks if she is able to.

Its good to hear that it has been approved by the FDA and at least now people over there have a chance.Unfortunately it is not that way over here and doesnt look like getting approved till late 2015 or even 2016. :(

    Hi Troy,

Is your wife Braf neg or positive? There are some options there with the Braf/mek having the longer period of time for remission. Can you travel to Europe for the EAP (expanded access program) of PD1? There should be EAPs opening in Australia, you might check with your doctor and I will be checking too.

Be sure to look at our Global Resources: http://melanomainternational.org/web-resources/global-resources/#.VAydoPldVSQ and click on Australia. You might try this contact in Australia:

    Merck Sharp & Dohme

    North Ryde, Australia

    Contact: Gary Jankelowitz 61 2 8988 8246

Wild type means she is braf negative. So it is best she get the PD1.
