My husband suffered mets to his spine and has gone from very physically active longhaul airline pilot and farmer to being wheelchair bound within 3 months of his diagnosis. He/we are becoming very depressed at the limited things he can do. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Anyone affected similarity? He’s had ipi and first subsequent scan but no follow up with onc for another six weeks. Any rehab programme anyone can suggest trying?
Radiation is usually the preferred treatment for spinal mets. Had he had radiation yet? It usually gets a good response. You are in New Zealand? Has he had BRAF testing? I know therapies are limited there and more available in Australia.
I am very sorry to hear or your and his situation. But please tell us a little more about therapies and location.
