I’m not sure I completely understand this study

This research highlights the message that all melanomas are potentially dangerous

This study was retrospective and takes place in New Zealand. At quick glance here is the take home message I got (I think they were just trying to grab a headline)

Professor Whiteman says only a small proportion of patients with thin tumours die from their disease, but as the number of cases rise there has been a corresponding increase in the number of deaths.

So there are more melanomas diagnosed on the thinner side so therefore there might be more deaths. Also, they didn’t look at mitotic values. Hogwash I think. Thin is better prognosis.

    i agree with you Catherine.

and a pretty weak study, only 4000 data-points and only in Queensland.
