My family member was diagnosed a few years ago with Stage three melanoma. It had spread to only SLN and doctors assured they had gotten it all. We have just discovered subcutaneous spread. My question is, what are some good questions to ask the doctor during the visit. We are clueless as to the imperative information to gather.
I have also read a lot about the Moffit Center. How easy is it to get in to see their doctors?
First of all what was the depth of the original lesion? How many nodes were positive in the SLNB? Were they micro or macro involved? The subcutaneous spread you mention, is that at the site of the original melanoma or somewhere else? Are you sure this is melanoma or did the doctor say it was? I guess I can’t give you any questions to ask until you tell us a little more here. We certainly are here to help you!
