    Does anyone know the actual statistic for greatest period of risk? I’ve heard first 2 years after diagnosis, but I’ve also heard it doesn’t peak for thin lesions till 5-6 years.? Is this risk for another primary or risk for initial primary to recur locally or spread?

    Whatever the statistics are, I’m not going to worry about it. I’m an individual, and I won’t let “numbers” dictate my life.

    Good for you Goldengirl! That is so true, we often don’t fit the statistics, medicine is far from an exact science. My doctor told me for my higher risk lesion than yours, Cohanja, that recurrences usually occurred within the first two years after diagnosis. They never say cured, always say no evidence of disease.
