    Stage for stage, lesions of the trunk behave badly, while lesions of the extremities

    have better outlook. Why?

    Not to be flippant, but maybe because our limbs are farther away from the other organs? Just a WAG on my part.

    But I would think the skin might be thicker on your back, for instance, than on your arms or legs. So, you’d think it would be better to have it where the skin is thicker. . I don’t know

    The theory is correct that the further away from your body, i.e. legs, arms, feet, the better for lessening melanoma spread. Your body’s blood circulates up normally and that would carry the melanoma micro satellites that direction. The harder and longer the climb, the more difficult to spread. Not sure if there is scientific evidence however.
