My biopsy came back as a severly atypical dysplastic nevus but didn’t rule out an early melanoma. I had a wide excision done Tuesday. Could the results from the wide excision come back bad? Could they say wow, this is melanoma and it’s thick or something similar. I’m worried because the biopsy said the neoplasm extended to the deep edges.
Normally, the initial biopsy gives all of the information on a lesion. The wide excision is just done for possible stray cells, but very few come back with further disease. All sounds like low risk and all gone.
